Kitchen Stories conceived The Human Factor as a series of special installations for Ermenegildo Zegna, developed as a global window campaign to express the brand’s DNA.
Often compared to a perfectly calibrated machine, Ermenegildo Zegna’s sartorial engineering finds its true essence in the human element. The project shifts the focus to this invisible core, celebrating the heart that gives body and soul to the brand’s tailoring tradition.
Each window explores the balance between technology and precision, and a deeply human, artisanal sensitivity. An oversized mannequin stands at the center of the installation as a metaphor for the “human mechanism” — the unique ability of craftsmanship and intelligence to generate form and meaning.
Inspired by metaphysical painting, particularly the work of Giorgio de Chirico, and by German artist Oskar Schlemmer, the visual language creates a suspended atmosphere where human presence becomes both abstract and essential.
